Company
Every company has a story about why it started. Ours began with a frustration many teams will recognize: too much glue code, too many fragile integrations, and too much time spent babysitting work instead of shipping it. This is why we decided to build Shard.
The problem we kept running into
Before Shard, our own operations ran on glue: scripts nobody owned, one-off integrations that broke quietly, and Slack reminders to do things a computer could do. Every fix made the pile bigger, and nobody could see the whole picture.
Automation should feel like removing work, not adding a new system to maintain.
What we believe
We believe automation should be visible, reversible, and boring in the best way. You should always see what ran and why, be able to undo a mistake, and never be surprised. Every decision at Shard starts with that standard.
Where we're headed
Our goal is one place where engineering and ops teams build, run, and trust their automations. We're investing in AI-assisted building, deeper integrations, and an API, and shaping what comes next with our customers' feedback.
