Learn the trigger, condition, and action pattern and build your first automation.
Automations take repetitive work off your team. Every automation follows one pattern: when something happens, do something else.
The three parts
Trigger: the event that starts the automation, like a pull request merging or a webhook arriving.
Conditions: optional filters that narrow when it runs, like only on the main branch.
Actions: what happens next, like posting a message or creating a ticket.
Create your first automation
Open Automations and choose New automation.
Choose a trigger and add any conditions.
Add one or more actions.
Name it, run a test, then switch it on.
Tip: start with something you do by hand every week. Once you see it run, you'll spot more to automate.
